Walker Lakenen is the owner/operator of Lakenen Crane and Rigging Service LLC, General Manager of Lakenen Excavating Company, LLC, President/General Manager of Chocolay Ironworks, LLC, and Partner in Lakenen Holding Company, LLC.  

Walker is a graduate of Marquette Senior High School. He has grown up around construction with most of his family being in the building trades and were constantly building even outside of work. During and after high school Walker worked for construction companies from working as a laborer to running excavation crews and overseeing lift plans for critical lifts with cranes on multimillion dollar projects.

With almost 10 years in the construction industry, Walker has many accomplishments.   He is an owner/operator member of the Operating Engineers Local 324, NCCCO certified crane operator, NCCCO certified rigger/signalperson, certified forklift operator, MSHA certified, OSHA 30 trained, excavation and trenching safety trained, has a commercial driver’s license (class A and class B w/passenger endorsement, and is a licensed septic system installer in Marquette county.  In 2014 he was the winner of the Boilermakers Welding competition at Northern Michigan University.  

Along with being a member of the UPCC board, he is also a board member for the Habitat for Humanity of Marquette County.
