U.P. Labor Hall of Fame Honors Don Maki and Tom Hogan
The Upper Peninsula Labor Hall of Fame has welcomed two new inductees whose lifelong work strengthened opportunity and dignity for workers across the region: Donald Maki and Thomas Hogan.
Don Maki spent more than four decades advocating for safer workplaces, fair wages, and strong protections for U.P. families. His leadership within the labor movement helped shape better conditions across the peninsula.
Tom Hogan, a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), devoted his career to supporting workers and advancing opportunities in the skilled trades. His commitment to training and mentorship helped expand pathways into electrical careers across the U.P.
Their legacies live on in the opportunities available to today’s workforce. UPCC congratulates their families, friends, and colleagues, and we honor the impact Don and Tom made on the future of work in the Upper Peninsula.
